The Credit Union Technology Forum 2024, hosted by League Data and CGI, was an incredible event that took place from October 1-3 in beautiful Québec City. With several credit unions and fintech vendor partners, the energy in the room was electric as everyone came together to explore what’s next for the industry. More than just a gathering, it was a celebration of collaboration, a core value we hold dear at League Data. We believe that when credit unions unite, they can build something far greater than they could ever achieve alone.
The forum created a space for credit union professionals, thought leaders, and innovators to connect on a deep level which sparked new partnerships, the exchanging of bold ideas, and the exploration and embracing of the latest tech innovations to shape the future. The atmosphere buzzed with the collective excitement of individuals driven by a shared mission: creating a brighter, more sustainable future for credit unions – experiencing growth, learning, and possibility.
"I am the type of person who thrives in purpose-driven environments that encourage collaboration, and creative solutions. This was the place to be checking all my boxes. The CUTF tapped into my creative mind by inspiring ways of reimagining both how we utilize technology to serve our members, and how we partner with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to bring our organizations into the future,” says Sara Maharajh, Engagement Manager at League Data."
“The quality of speakers was top grade, balanced by entertainment I have never seen before, and an abundance of networking opportunities. If you were there, you know. If you weren't there, you don't want to miss the next one,” adds Maharajh.

A 'boots on the ground' view of CUTF 2024
As the newest member of the League Data Communications Team, the 2024 Credit Union Technology Forum was the first time I attended the event, while being involved in the execution and marketing of the event. Reflecting on my personal experiences at the CUTF, I found it to be more than just a conference; it was a platform for awakening ideas and connections that expanded my understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the credit union sector. The powerful combination of discussions focused on trending topics like the future of AI, inspiring speakers, and meaningful networking made it an experience like no other.
Planning and execution of CUTF was an incredibly rewarding experience for me. Being at the heart of this dynamic event gave me the opportunity to witness the passion of credit unions working towards providing an exceptional service to its members. From drafting creative emails for the delegates, to being at the forefront at the information desk, every moment was filled with purpose and energy. The venue was welcoming and spacious, conveniently located at the heart of Québec City. The conference opened with a violin performance by an artist, a unique and uncommon touch that you don't often experience at such events. Moreover, the venue chosen for the offsite event was unique and gave the feel of actual old Québec City, immersing the attendees in the rich history and charm of the city.
The most rewarding aspect was realizing that our efforts played a crucial role in building relationships, sparking new ideas, and driving the collective growth of the credit union industry. CUTF showcased an enriching spirit of community and camaraderie that brought like-minded professionals together to delve upon a common vision of preparing the credit unions for the future by equipping them with cutting edge technology.
